Twelve months ago, Melbourne was experiencing a summer that we Australians are known for: blistering hot days and no respite in the evening. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed these hot days and nights, though there was definitely some variances. On 2 February 2014, while official temperatures recorded at the Latrobe Street observation station (now closed) reached 39 degrees (Celsius; 102.2F), in Croydon, Victoria – 45 minutes out of the CBD where the BOM observation station was at the time – temperatures seared to 44 – 45 C (111.2 – 113F). Needless to say, I was really questioning my choice of dress for The Mister’s brother’s wedding. Continue reading

What to Wear Wednesday #1: A Cool Summer’s Eve
A little late out of the gates today sorry folks, but I’m still not 100%. I ended up visiting the doctor yesterday and then spent much of yesterday resting. I’m feeling much better today but will be pleased to be back to full health! Continue reading
Style Icon: Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe: A woman needing no introduction. A woman who, although I admire her greatly, I do not tend to count her as one of my style icons. Why? Simply put, there are so many others who do. Home Organisation: Desk Decor

Planning: Putting off until tomorrow and how to get back on top of it
It would seem that, despite all my best efforts, I didn’t get my blog planner printed until last night! The result? It’s now Wednesday and I’m only just getting to start the planning now. I’ve let myself down by not prioritising this task. Sure, I love that I have a super clean and neat flat now, and that my outfit for The Mister’s step-sister’s wedding in 12 days is complete, but I’ve left something important fall behind. Continue reading
Shopping: New Year’s Day Finds
And just like that, it’s 2015! Happy New Year to you all. I hope however you marked the occasion was just as you planned. We aren’t really into celebrating New Year, so we stayed in watching Across the Universe eating home made pizza and garlic bread, and were in bed just after 23:30. We heard loads of fireworks (official and crackers being let off in residential areas nearby) ring in the year, and dozed off soon after that. Continue reading
