A little late out of the gates today sorry folks, but I’m still not 100%. I ended up visiting the doctor yesterday and then spent much of yesterday resting. I’m feeling much better today but will be pleased to be back to full health!
It’s no secret that I love fashions from the 40s and 50s. I’m always on the lookout for something to add to my wardrobe whether it’s from the op shop (thrifted), eBay, or sometimes new. What to Wear Wednesday is a new series coveting items I long to add to my collection.
2. Cat Eye Sunglasses, Atomic Cherry
3. Sourpuss Bettie Page Bag, Gwynnie’s Emporium
4. I’d Be Delighted Flat, ModCloth
5. OPI Suzi Has A Swede Tooth Polish, Australia Beauty
6. Stella Pop Stud Earrings, Forever New
7. Colour Inject Lipstick in Flamingo, Australis
8. 26″ Petticoat in White, Vivien of Holloway
Inspired by the cooler summer nights we’ve been experiencing in Melbourne, I just knew that the gorgeous Belina from Lindy Bop had to be my first What to Wear frock. The short sleeves are perfect to keep your shoulders warm without having to wear a cardi or bolero. I love the boat neck too, and the bow just there on the neckline near the left shoulder is divine.
Initially I wanted to style the dress with hints of blue (it is my favourite colour, no matter where it lies on the spectrum though I’m more drawn to darker shades), but I was drawn to matching everything to the belt! Not generally one for a lot of pink, I surprised myself. Australis’ Colour Inject lipsticks are incredible, I love the way my lips look and feel when I wear Mambo, so I knew that Flamingo would be my lipstick of choice with this beautiful frock
The Mister and I will often stroll along the St Kilda foreshore before sunset, so sunglasses are necessary as the sun dips below the horizon. Flats make it easier to walk along, and weave in and out of all the tourists and backpackers that flock to St Kilda and our local area over summer. That and the fact that a back injury means heels and I aren’t particularly good friends any more.
